Bergamot essential oils properties
Bergamot essential oil has a pleasant citrus aroma, it is perfect to lift your spirits and fill you with energy and create fresh environments. Bergamot oil is extracted by cold pressing the skin of bergamot, a green/yellow citrus fruit produced by the Citrus Bergamia tree. Cultivation is concentrated in southern Italy in the coastal areas of the province of Reggio di Calabria. The word bergamot comes from the Italian word bergamotto, probably derived from the Turkish word “bey armudu” (lord of pears). The fruit is generally not cultivated for the extraction of its juice, (very acidic), but for the skin that is dried and used in infusions or for the extraction of bergamot essential oil, one of the most common ingredients in perfumery. highly appreciated for its sweetness, freshness and as a natural flavoring agent and deodorant.
